The Marche Climate - Food - History - Scenery Is there anything left of Italy to discover?
Nestling between the Apennines and the Adriatic coast lies a region untouched by the masses. A region with nearly 200 kilometres of unspoilt coastline, ancient monasteries set in wooded valleys, mountains where wolves and royal eagles roam, and an outstanding local cuisine still deeply rooted in peasant tradition. Here in the Marche, perhaps more so than anywhere else in Italy you will find places where time really has stood still. The territory of the region is divided into four provinces: Ancona, Ascoli Piceno, Macerata and Pesaro-Urbino. Approximate driving time from Macerata to other main Italian cities: Rome - 3 hours
